1 General information

1.1 What are bike lockers?

Bike lockers are enclosed parking spaces for bicycles that protect against vandalism, theft and the weather. Each locker is a single locker for one bike and can be easily booked online by the day, week or year - either spontaneously on site or in advance. The lower floors of the bike garages are equipped with storage space for helmets and rainwear and, depending on the location, with free e-bike charging facilities.

1.2 What advantages does the locker offer me?

  • Dry and clean parking space
  • Increased theft protection compared to a freely accessible parking space
  • Protection against vandalism
  • Safe use thanks to the illuminated interior
  • Easy booking via app or online via an electronic access and booking system
  • Quick access to the locker by entering a code or QR code (no keys required)
  • Sufficient space for additional items such as a bike helmet and clothing on the lower floors
  • Free e-bike charging facilities on the lower floors, depending on location

1.3 Where can I find VVT bike lockers?

There are currently VVT bike lockers in Sölden at the post office car park (Dorfstrasse 76, in front of the MiniM), at the train station in Ötztal-Bahnhof (south and north entrances) and at the train station Lienz.

The aim of all project partners (ÖBB, VVT, municipalities) is to provide VVT bike lockers at important public transport hubs throughout Tyrol in the medium term.

1.4 How are the bike lockers equipped?

  • The lower lockers have facilities for hanging clothes or a cycle helmet and some have a power connection. You can see whether your desired locker has a power connection on the booking page.
  • The upper lockers can be operated via a guide rail so that the bike can be easily stowed in the locker.
  • E-bikes can of course also be parked in the bike lockers. If they weigh more than 18kg, they should be parked in the lower lockers due to their weight. They can also be recharged there, as some lockers have a power connection.

1.5 Who can I contact if I have questions or suggestions about the VVT bike lockers?

If you have any questions, problems or suggestions, please contact the VVT Customer Centre - by telephone on +43 (0)512 56 1616 or by e-mail at info(at)vvt.at

1.6 Are the bike lockers accessible without barriers?
